Prairie Sisters Handwork Club...

Welcome dear needlefolk friends!

Sure hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas!

I've been so busy cleaning and planning in
anticipation for the New Year just around the corner!

After lots of thought & sleepless nights,
the club name has been chosen for
2018's New Handwork Club,
I'm excited to announce...

Coming Soon...all the details will be released
next week!

♛♛♛

This past week has been SO COOOOLD,
the temps here in Wisconsin are making me go
into hibernation mode!

Our furnace can hardly keep up with
the bitterly cold temps outside,
so baking something yummy
always warms up the old
farmhouse kitchen...
Two of my favorites,
Spaghetti and Butternut Squash...yum!

Plus, just staying super busy cleaning and moving
around really helps to stay warm!

This past few weeks I've been reorganizing my
work space, putting my new Apple Computer into
my little library room in the farmhouse!
Surrounding my new work area with some of my favorite things!

For the past four years I've been doing all my
designing out in my Studio,
which is outside in a separate building...I'm
beyond excited for this new change!

Sam found me this sweet little green handled iron for Christmas!

My old computer will be used only for shipping,
which will remain out in the Studio area.

A glimpse of my basket in the evening light!

I'll share more pics once I finish my reorganization project!

♛♛♛

This weekend I'm planning on packing away
my little friends that only come out at Christmas time...

It's aways sad to pack away these special old
friends that brings such joy to my heart during the
Christmas season!

But, I know how good it will feel to have
the farmhouse back to normal on
January 1st!

I'm a creature that thrives on routine & organization,
anything else stresses me out!

Time passes so quickly,
and I'm really looking forward
to bringing in the New Year
clean & tidy!

2017 has been an amazing year,
filled will many trials and many victories!

♛♛♛

Due to the frigid temperatures ~

SCATTERED SEED SAMPLERS
STUDIO FARM SHOP
will be closed on Saturday...

Hopefully it will be warmer next weekend!

♛♛♛

Weekend Soul Food...

Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me.

Psalms 51:10~12...kjv

♛♛♛

Wishing you a happy weekend,
see you next year!

Monday Soul Food...

It's easy to get caught up in the busyness of
Christmas, but with an inventory list assessing "Virtues"
we can relieve the stress of the season upon us!

This list of important virtues cannot be bought in
a store and therefore does not cost a penny!

Would you like to be happy and content as you
prepare for the birthday of our Savior?

"Fruits of the Spirit"

~ Love ~ unselfish, loyal & benevolent concern for the well being of others
~ Joy ~ great delight, gladness of heart
~ Peace ~ tranquility, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation
~ Patience ~ ability to endure persecution and ill~treatment
~ Kindness ~ goodness in action, sweetness of disposition
~ Goodness ~ ready to do good, love in action
~ Faithfulness ~ dependability, loyalty and stability
~ Gentleness ~ gracious, kindly disposition, controlled strength
~ self~control ~ restraint or discipline exercised over one's behavior

May each of these virtues rest in your heart during this
busy time of year...reminding ourselves that our character
is a very import task in life!

It is with these virtues that we can overcome difficult
obstacles as we walk the path of life!

Please visit Galatians 5:16~26 to read more about
walking in the Spirit!

...🐑🐑🐑...

Well friends, it's time for me to tackle the next
thing on my to~do list!

Soulfully,
Tammy

Stitched on 36ct Edinburgh "Summer Khaki"

and for the backside...
Love this Civil War Reproduction fabric!

It's seems I can never find a ball of string when I need one,
so I picked my brain and came up with this idea...hope you like it?

I'm pleased with how my string hole idea turned out...

Thick or thin string/yarn will feed nicely through
the sturdy little peep hole...an exclusive finishing technique
by Scattered Seed Samplers!

Kits will include the bone ring to make the
peep hole and string for the drawstring will also be included.

The chosen thank you token is this
sweet little kitty.

Get ready to let "Miss Kitty" be the keeper
of your favorite ball of string!

This is the last kit for 2017 of
The Early Maiden Workbasket Club,

the kits that where in this club...

Opening New Doors!

Welcome and happy Monday
dear needlefolk friends!

Hope everyone enjoyed a nice
relaxing weekend!

Can you believe November is
quickly coming to an end...yikes, I have so
much on my "to do" list!

Hoping to start stitching on the model
for Early Maiden Workbaskets upcoming release!

🎃🎃

Opening New Doors!

I love this picture...
After living through all the ups and downs
of my life, I have come to realize that

~ the key to CHANGE is to let
go of FEAR!

So, where am I going with this, well what you
don't see is that I have been overwhelmingly frustrated
with my computer...I'm ready to let Sam use it as
target practice!

I've decided to overcome my fear of change and
upgrade from a Windows 7 PC to an Apple Computer...

Just purchased my sweet big Mac on
Friday...love Apple's impeccable packaging!

Later this week my local Mac guys will be doing
a set up for me...I'm excited and scared all at the same
time BUT I'm finally ready for this change!

Everything about this decision revolves
around improving the designs from
Scattered Seed Samplers!

🎃🎃

Tis the season for giving...

Please watch for more details to follow,
the gift will be from my personal
collection of antique sewing
notions!

With the Holiday Season upon,
please remember you are not a Turkey,
so please don't stuff yourself!

Enjoy family, friends, and wholesome
foods in moderation!

A good time during the holidays should not
equate to eating so much you have to loosen your
pants and feel uncomfortable!

My tough love message for the week!

🎃🎃

Thanksgiving Soul Food...

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him,
and bless his name."

Psalms 100:4...kjv

🎃🎃

May the blessing of true joy fill your
heart on Thanksgiving Day!

Much Love,
Tammy

My New Chariot!

Welcome dear needlefolk friends!

I'm happy to say I'm finally back after being out
of circulation for the past several weeks!

After several family emergencies
it was necessary to take some time off...
more details later in this post!

First things first,
a much needed update for
The Early Maiden Workbasket Club...

The fourth and final club kit for 2017
is currently in the works!

I'm still trying to make my final decision on which
of these two Civil War Reproduction fabrics
to use for this special project.

This week I'll be working on the design,
and things will start falling into place...sorry
I'm running behind schedule!

This will be a sweet practical item that you
would have found in the humble home
of an early maiden!

More updates to follow in the coming weeks!

😽🐱😽

Next up,
please meet my new chariot...
My new ride is a 2018
Kia "Soul" in the color "Wild Orange"

In 2016 my Chariot was "White"...

Every two years I like up upgrade to
 a fun new color!

My first "Soul" was in  2014
and that Chariot was "Mocha"...
As you can tell I'm in love with the
Kia Souls, such a fun reliable ride, plus they
get great gas mileage!

😽🐱😽

Now, for my family emergencies...
My husband had an emergency
Vitrectomy (eye surgery),
on his right eye.

Several months ago he had the same procedure
on his left eye, which was unfortunately  followed
with some complications, needless to say it
has been a very stressful time and the thought
of having it done a second time
was very overwhelming!

We have spent many days back and forth to
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota,
but I must share a hidden Chapel
deep within the walls of
Mayo's St. Mary's
Hospital...

While my husband Bill was in surgery
my son Samuel and I decided to follow the
signs that read "Chapel",
as we approached the entrance, doors just
 automatically opened, leading us first
through this entrance.

We both commented on this lovely Crucifix!

As we kept walking, not really sure what to expect,
what we found took our breath away...
We felt like we had been raptured and entered
into a different world!

We were expecting a small little chapel area,
but this is a very large church within the
hospital walls...marble pillars, carved statues
and lots of stained glass windows!

This was very early in the morning,
still dark outside, Sam and I nealt together
while Sam prayed out loud for his dad!

Samuel's prayer was so touching,
and the tears that fills our eyes will be
a memory that will live in my heart
forever!

This was the view outside of Bill's recovery room...do
you see the sweet little birds nest?

So far, this surgery is looking more successful!

😽🐱😽

We were not prepared for what followed...

My husband received a phone call the following
morning after his surgery from his younger
brother informing him that their father
had just passed away!

My father~in~law was 89 years old,
and a pillar in our community for many years!

Serving as a LaCrosse, Wisconsin Police
Officer for 24 years, and as the Sheriff
of La Crosse County for 10 years.

Tuesday was the funeral,
here is a picture of my husband Bill & I...

It was a very chilly day,
so my winter coat felt mighty fine!

Funeral's are always a difficult time!

😽🐱😽

"For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life."

John 3:16...kjv

😽🐱😽

It feels really good to be back out in my
Studio getting caught up on things!

Much Love,
Tammy
