~ Lovely Lakeside Linen ~

Hello and welcome dear friends.

Wishing you....

Happy Halloween Greetings!

Can you believe tomorrow will be NOVEMBER 1st!

*******

I'll have to start today's post by saying how truly disappointed
I'm with the SLOW delivery on the packages I've
been waiting for!

BUT

I'm very excited and thrilled beyond belief to share with
you the ONE that has arrived so far....

~ Lovely Lakeside Linen ~

I so happy to say that I'll proudly be endorsing Lakeside Linen
on my stitched models.

Eight of my favorite colours ~

Vintage Lentil
Vintage Pearled Barley
Vintage Light Exampler
Vintage Exampler
Vintage Butter Cream
Vintage Pecan Butter
Vintage Sand Dune
Vintage Pear

They arrived just in time for the Christmas sampler
I'm working on!

*******

As I was walking out to get the mail today I noticed a
bright splash of color nestled into the branches
of our Arborvitae tree....

These are the red berries produced by
climbing Bittersweet Nightshade.

Edible for some birds.

  However, the berry is
poisonous to humans and livestock.

*******

This past week we've had lots of high winds and most
of the leaves have now fallen to the ground.

While out running errands we pulled over to take a quick
picture of these two nice looking guard dogs....

The first thing that caught my eye was all the bright leaves.....then
 we noticed the two dogs!

*******

What do you want too do?
  I don't know?
What do you want too do....

I love to listen to the loud chitter chatter of the birds this
time of year, especially the crows.

*******

While at a flea market I found what was once an old clock....

The clockworks were all missing, but I've added a couple
little glass shelves and turned it into a useful
display shelf for my collection of
Stafford shire sheep.

It's always fun to make something useful again instead of
throwing it out!

and today I pulled
all the threads & cut the linen.

Yeah, I'll start stitching tonight....using the

arrived!

~ Autumn Walk~

Hello dear friends and stitchers.

This has been one of the busiest days ever!!!

I've been trying all day to sit down to write this post....finally
some quiet time!

I'd like to take a moment and kindly thank everyone from
The Primitive Stitchers Society, and my blog followers
for the wonderful response I received on the
pattern I released Friday for

"Hannah's Thankful Heart".

All the support and kind words of encouragement
are TRULY appreciated!

*******

Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous day!

What a lovely opportunity to get some fall yard clean up
taken care of.

After I was all done I decided to take a walk here on the
farm.

It seems like just yesterday our Purple Coneflower was in
full bloom....now it's gone to seed.

If you look closely you can see all the little dark seeds, and if you
you shake the plant the seeds come falling out.

They're getting ready to take their long winter's nap.
I look forward to their return next summer.

***

Next, I came upon some milkweed plants...

I had to look really hard to find some closed pods because
most of them have also gone to seed.

While taking these picture there was a gentle breeze that created
such a great effect!

So soft and fluffy!

***

I love this next picture of a hidden surprise....

An abandoned birds nest tucked in a thicket of vines!

Just think of all the hard work that birds put into making
their special nest to raise their families!

****

As I continued my walk, I was surprised to come upon
a small splash of bright color....

Such a pretty bright shade of yellow!

****

Next, a few more plants/weeds that have gone to seed....

Hairy looking puff balls with thorny leaves.

I'm pretty sure this is a weed of some sort?

****

Almost back to the farmhouse, and in the distance I can see
our Linden Tree on the edge of the yard.....

The leaves just keep falling!

****

This last picture I had to ask my husband about because
I had never noticed this in our Coneflower field before.....

A pipe sticking up out of the ground with a piece of old wood
and a porcelain fence insulator on it.....looks just
like a cross?

My husband knew exactly what I was referring too, and said
he had a "No Trespassing" sign attached to it at
one time!

There's usually a good explanation for everything!

~ STUDIO NEWS ~

I'm trying to finalize my thoughts for the Christmas
patterns that I need to start charting.

I'm hoping to get started on these next projects
on Tuesday :)

On Friday hopefully some of the packages that I've been
waiting to share with you will have arrived!

I just love Marigold's they are one of my favorite flowers,
so when I saw this big house with a
white picket fence surrounded with Marigold's
I just had to take a picture.....

Wow....that's a lot of Marigold's!

I love the weathered birdhouse sitting on the red bench!
Check out the old dough bowl filled with sewing
goodies :)

Wonderful bed coverlets and primitive dolls.

Beautiful old sampler!

What great Christmas ambiance to have a red door!

More little samplers.....I always get out my magnifying glass
to get a close look at samplers featured in books
and magazines.

Old crocks and chalkware Santa's.

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse of this lovely book filled
with great decorating ideas.

While out and about I passed these grazing horses....

They didn't seem to mind their picture being taken!

However, they did start to get a little curious!

This horse reminds me of one I had growing up.

I'll be sharing not one but four very exciting
news flashes hopefully very soon!

The waiting is just killing me!

Three of them are packages I'm waiting for,
and the other one is a follow up phone call to
a call I recently received from a very
special and well know lady in the sampler industry.
She said she would call me back in November

~ Sampler Sneak Peek ~

Welcome dear friends to Monday's posting.

I enjoyed a very relaxing weekend filled with hours
of stitching on my next sampler soon to
be released.

Thanks to my wonderful husband who offered to help me
pull the threads and linen on Friday night, so I
could stitch all weekend!

He is REALLY good at picking out colors. I've come to
him many times when frustrated over color choices, and
he ALWAYS has a good eye for the right ones.

Today I'll share a little sneak peek....

Rich warm fall colors....how do you like the
Indian Paintbrush flowers?

Saturday I stitched until 2:30 a.m. trying to finish the main
character of this sampler....I'm really excited about
sharing the finish!

My husband really likes this design and is very happy
that I'll be finished with the stitching today.

I'll be releasing this pattern this FRIDAY!

*******

My son Sam discovered some little bunnies this morning!!!!!

I'm not sure if they are Abby's?
They let Sam get pretty close while he took some pictures....

I was so excited when Sam showed me the pictures....I sure
hope that they are Abby's :)

I'll be keeping watch to try to find out.

Just a little sweetie pie!

*******

I went out to visit my husband in his decoy shop this morning
to see what he's been working on.

His shop is located in the old milk house of our
big barn, and this is his entrance door....

~ Black Slough Decoys ~

His cluttered organized workshop!

Whenever I need something fixed....this is where I come.

This side is Sam's workbench area.

Lots of glass eyes....maybe he's making a new Owl?

Nope....He's making Loon's!

I love the old copper patch on this one!

  He's painting the feathers now,
then he'll antique and rub it
down to look like the one
sitting beside it.

Have you ever heard the sound a Loon makes?
It's really incredible....just like the incredible
talent my husband has!

I love his work and I'm very proud of him :)

This is what you'll see when leaving his shop....

He painted this duck hunting marsh scene on the inside of the
entrance door.

He is also a marshland poet, and has written
some really great poems over the years.

*******

While on our regular Sunday drive we passed this
quaint old barn....

Love the curvy driveway!

And then there was this one....

Look at the old stone foundation!
The plants are hiding the best part.....

A old weathered lean~two with an old pick up truck!

How special!
